TxCMA Believes
that cigars are a legal product and therefore consumers should be free to use it. While there are places where smoking should and is prohibited, we believe it is unfair and against common sense to outlaw it in cigar shops, whole sole purpose is to consume cigars.
that taxes are the responsibility of all individuals and should not be made to target specific businesses or industries. If the state needs to raise more funds it should be everyone’s burden, not solely that of cigar manufactures, retailers, and consumers.
that consumers, in a free marketplace, can and will make the best decisions regarding what type of products and business they want, therefore the state should not impose needless regulation that add to the cost of individual products. That reduces sales, raises prices, destroys wealth, and kills jobs.
